Last.fm’s “Similar Artists” feature is sometimes amazingly accurate. Here’s the artists recommended to me when listening to TV On The Radio, and the albums I own:

Woopra, Reinvigorate & web stats

Woopra sent an email this morning about their free beta coming to an end. I think it’s great they are moving to a paid service, it’s just unfortunate my experience with them sucked so much. My intentions are not to be mean but I’ve tried throwing 2 sites on their platform and had all kinds of problems (stats not being collected, days/weeks just flat out missing…)

In any case, I have been a tremendously happy Reinvigorate user so I highly recommend you signing up for their beta. I’m not even sure if their dishing out accounts anymore but it’s truly great service that for over 2 years has been trusted and relied upon. I will happily pay these guys should they ever switch things over.

Cort and I were down in Invermere this past weekend and while walking down the main drag saw this guy who looked pretty, ummm… special. He wanted us to take his picture, so I did.

Gag reel’s are always funny.

Very interesting read from some Android developers.

Whoever at Firefox decided that was a good icon to use for “Privacy” should not be working there.

Wow, wow… Just…. wow.

CNET review of Snow Leopard

Ok, whoa, whoa. 2 primary things about this review.

  1. How are users rating it already? Seeing as how it’s not released yet, that’s not really fair. Most of these users are probably basing their review on RC’s or GM’s, and while that gives a fair indication (no drastic changes, or changes at all) I still don’t think users should be able to review on stuff until the day it goes retail. Not a huge deal, it’s just, here’s a quick comparison—IMDb doesn’t let you rate movies until they are released, and that makes sense to me.

  2. Listed under cons; requires $29 upgrade fee. Really? REALLY? You’re gonna complain about the cheapest OS upgrade I can think of that’s been released in my entire life? The cheapest Windows 7 upgrade is $119 (based on the info I could find). Come on, this is not a con, it’s a god damn pro!

Got to admit, season 5 looks awesome… can’t wait to get my Winchester back on.

Opera 10 RC

Opera 10 hit RC today. I’ve always been a fan of Opera and it’s nice to see 10 is the most native Opera that has ever been released for OS X. There are still UI issues that make it feel like a foreign correspondent for the Mac but they’re getting there, ever so slowly.

On a positive note, they FINALLY updated that bloody logo. Gawd daaamn, it’s about time.

Snow Leopard

2.x years ago when I bought OS X Leopard, I paid for expedited shipping and it never arrived. The shipment went from “on vehicle for delivery” to crediting my Visa a few days later. When I phone them and said “wtf?” they said it couldn’t be delivered… I was at the delivery address all day, so who knows.

I bought Snow Leopard today, just like I did Leopard years ago. Here’s hoping this shipment will go better. For the record, I never did buy Leopard due to the snafu above. I shelled out the cash, had it refunded and grabbed the DVD from @timuruski. Fuck em’, I tried to buy it.

I fucking love this place.

Very slick.
